A garden dhaba on S.P. Ring Road, seventeen years on.

We opened on the old SG Highway in 2007 with one tandoor, a scattering of charpais, and the food we grew up eating in the Kathiyawad — sev tameta cooked black in a karahi, rotlo warmed on coals, and a paneer masala the neighbourhood came back for. Seventeen years and one move later, we are on Sardar Patel Ring Road, beside Shaligram Lake View, in a garden bigger than the last and older-feeling somehow, with the same fires and the same hands at the tandoor.

Come at seven, when the string lights are lit and the roti hits the tandoor, and you will see what we mean.

The Garden · Ambience

Long evenings, lit from above.

The garden is the heart of the place. From November to February — Ahmedabad's kindest weather — dinner runs long under the lights. In the summer, we set the tables late, once the heat lifts and the tandoor smoke drifts. Bring the family. Bring the side of the family you rarely see. There is no dress code, but the food is worth arriving hungry for.

The banquet hall and the party lawn are made for feasts, not events. One point of contact from the first phone call to the last plate cleared: catering, decor, service, and a kitchen that has cooked for very large tables for seventeen years.
